XXVIII SELL Student Games 2012
GENERAL REGULATIONS
1. Time and place. XXVIII SELL Student Games 2012 (the Games) will take place in Otaniemi, Espoo, Finland from May 17th to May 20th 2012. Arrival will be on Thursday 17th May and departure after the ballgame Finals and the Closing Ceremony on Sunday afternoon 20th May. Technical meetings will take place on Thursday 17th May starting at 18:00 or later. Opening ceremony will take place in Tapiola Sport Hall on May 18th at 19:00.
2. Organizer. The organizer (OC) of the Games is Aalto University Sports Club (AaltoUS). Mailing address for the SELL 2012 Office is: SELL Student Games 2012, P.O. Box 69, FI-02151 Espoo, Finland. 3. Programme. There will be competitions in 14 different sports: athletics, badminton, basketball, chess, fencing, floorball, frisbee-golf, judo, mini-football, orienteering, swimming, tennis, ultimate and volleyball.
4. Participants. Delegations of universities or similar institutions are welcome to participate. Competitions are open for students and former students who have obtained their academic degree or diploma in 2011. In team sport events a team must consist of students or former students of one and the same higher educational institution.
The individual dossier for participants to be presented during accreditation must include:
1) a valid student card or a copy of his/her final academic degree or diploma, issued in 2011 (only competitors);
2) an identity card – passport, ID or driving license (all participants).
5. Size of delegation. There are no limitations concerning the size of the delegation. Maximal number of participants in every sport event is determined by regulations of that specific sport event.
6. Participation package. The participation package includes: right to take part in competitions, catering three times a day (one day is counted from 15:00 hours to 15:00 hours, next day), floor lodging in personal sleeping bag on personal mattress, entrance to all competitions and other SELL 2012 events.
Accommodation in hostels or hotels is possible for additional compensation, but the number of rooms is limited.
Upon registration before March 20th, 2012 the cost of participation is 25 EUR per day per person. For persons participating in team events (basketball, floorball, mini-football, ultimate and volleyball) the participation fee is 75 EUR. Upon registration after March 20th 2012 and until April 25th 2012 (late entries) the costs of participation will be 30 EUR per day per person. Upon registration after April 25th 2012 and until May 11th (very late entries) the costs of participation will be 35 EUR per day per person. The registration closes May 11th.
7. Registration and compensation of participation costs takes place in the office of SELL Student Games 2012 (Lämpömiehenkuja 2, 02150 Espoo Finland), on the internet (www.sell2012.fi) or by fax +358 (0)9 468 3218, considering the following deadlines:
General registration deadline 31.1.2012
1) preliminary entries ie. number of participants in each sport
2) booking of hotel rooms, if necessary
Final registration deadline 20.3.2012 (higher participation fee will applied after this date)
1) personal details of participants (name, DOB, photo)
2) invoicing participation fees and additional costs (for hotel accommodation)
Invoices are sent to contact persons by 6.4.2012 with a due date of seven days
Late entry deadline 25.4.2012
1) personal details of participants (name, DOB, photo)
2) traveling details
3) invoicing rest of the participation fees and extra transportation costs
Bank charges for foreign payments must be paid in total by the order (participants).
