Aalto University Sports Club (AaltoUS) is a traditional association which has acted in the field of technology student sports for more than 100 years and is still active in the sector. The club has operated under the name Polyteknikkojen Urheiluseura (PUS) until 29 March 2010. In the early years, the emphasis was on competitive sports and the management of the entire sports affairs of Helsinki University of Technology. Later, the nature of operations changed and the club now mainly acts as a supporter of student sports. The current forms of activity are, for example, the organising of Aalto University’s ball game leagues in cooperation with the sports associations which operate along with Aalto University School of Technology and Aalto University Student Union (AYY), the granting of project aid to Aalto University students and Aalto University teams for sports events and the coordination of annual SELL Games teams. In addition, AaltoUS provides various operational support forms to the sports associations which operate along with AYY and up-to-date sports information to AYY’s members.
